What Being a Coach Means to Me.

I never thought I would be able to make personal training my career long term, most trainers don’t last longer than a year. I had hoped but when I started I had to work other jobs while training clients in my spare time and it felt like I would never make enough to make the switch. It’s tough going, trying to get your name out into the community and have people trust you enough to spend their hard earned money.

I was beyond lucky to find a fitness community to be apart of, at Raise the Bar Fitness here in Moncton, NB. and have a supportive family that didn’t doubt my abilities. I was able to practice the art of coaching, learn how to learn well, and build my knowledge to the point I believe I can help almost anybody, achieve almost any goal, given the time.

Having this community has been a big deal for me. Making friends, building connections with people that are interested in improving their fitness and health has majorly boosted my chances of being successful in a job that I truly love to do. That’s why I constantly try to provide free info, advice, and make myself available to this community as much as I can.

I get the opportunity to go through the ups and downs of fitness endeavors with clients every single day, from crying because lofty goals are so hard to achieve to celebrating when they do something they never thought they could do. I wouldn’t want to do anything else other than help my clients navigate the obstacles and figure out how to make their fitness goals fit within their lifestyle. This has pushed me to try things I never thought I would like run a half marathon and get pretty deep into CrossFit style training, the experience has been wild and unpredictable but it has taught me a lot about fitness, nutrition, health, and how to tailor programs to different individuals.

I’m excited to continue to help people work towards whatever fitness goals they have, and look forward to whatever the future holds.
